RV Industry Rebounding?

We’re all closely watching the signs of the economy, hoping for signs of relief. The RV industry is no different.

On the one hand the travel trailer or fifth wheel is the ultimate sign of American luxury. On the other it is the canary in the cave of the US economy. And there seems to be a little light returning to the canary’s eyes.

That is according to one news article at least. According to Dustin Grove at WSBT in Indiana, some RV manufacturers are starting to see their orders going up. The factories are humming and trailers are rolling out to the dealerships.

But before you go popping any champagne corks consider this sign of “improvement:” at one manufacturer the employees were finally put back on a five day work week. That’s the current employees – those that were laid off last year still haven’t been called back.

It’s still going to be a while folks.
